This Friday afternoon, 10 June 2022, the Students Union at the University of Manchester (UoM) will host an event that could be considered one of the highlights of the University year. Students at the University of Manchester will get a rare opportunity to engage in a discussion with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The event is set up in the form of an online Q&A session and attendants will get the chance to also ask individual questions.
A chance for students to ask individual questions
The discussion will be hosted by the UoM Ukrainian Society, the MOBILISE research team – led by Dr. Olga Onuch – and the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the Manchester Museum from 17:00 – 18:30. President Zelenskyy will attend virtually to address attendees and take questions from the audience.
An exciting opportunity
The President of the Ukrainian Society Mariia Horb, said “we are very excited to speak to our President at such difficult time and unite our voices with the struggle of the people of Ukraine.”
The event will be co-moderated by Professor Dimitris Papadimitriou of the Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and Anna Glew from the MOBILISE research team.
“The University and our Centre are proud to be hosting such a high profile event which will benefit so many of our students. We are tremendously thankful to the work that the Ukrainian Society has put into this and to the Manchester Museum for providing the venue for it.”Prof. Papadimitriou
