Trumperies

‘I hold all the cards’, Trump told Zelenskyy in their Oval Office brawl. Ah yes, but who holds the trump cards in their game?

All the spade cards from one pack, and a joker on top of them

DT:

Welcome to America,
No suit to wear, I see!
And if I’d been there at the start,
This war just wouldn’t be.

You owe us billions for our help,
Old sleepy Joe gave that.
And millions voted me to power,
A record poll in fact.

This is just a small dispute,
I’ll settle in a day.
It’s all a game, and you don’t have
So many cards to play.

It’s we who hold the cards you need.
That Biden was a fool.
Come in. Let’s play. Seen on TV
Our game will look so cool.

You have rare earth beneath your soil
Like diamonds in the clay.
So now let’s start the game. I know:
Diamonds for trumps. I say.

And we’ve got spades, to dig, dig, dig,
Morning noon and night.
Our spades will fish those diamonds out
The spades are trumps all right

You should be grateful for our help,
And thank us twice an hour.
If not we’ll club you all to death.
Those clubs are trumps of power.

VZ:

Thank you sir, but you’re all wrong,
What trumps your strength and might,
Are the hearts of our dear soldiers brave;
They bleed, they die, they fight.

Your arrogance and gangster threats,
We will no more endure.
Though you may have more cards than us,
Our hearts will trump for sure

I love Bylines!  I’ll buy you a coffee!
