Sonnet to a Ladybird

A ladybird on a daisy, such a beautiful sight

Upon a daisy's throne, so fair and bright,
A ladybird reclines in ruby grace.
Her crimson cloak adorned with specks of night,
A fleeting queen, she reigns this petalled place.

Beneath her tiny feet, the meadow sways,
A patchwork quilt of green and golden hues.
The summer breeze conducts soft floral plays,
While clouds perform their waltz in pastel blues.

Oh gentle creature, herald of delight,
You whisper luck to those who dare believe.
A painted jewel, you shimmer in the light,
As nature’s hand bestows what you achieve.

Fly now, sweet charm, where destiny may lead,
And sow your magic with each flowered seed.
